If you're looking for a 2012 calendar for that special someone I recommend Thich Nhat Hanh's. It's really beautiful and full of lovely quotes from him and artwork by Adam Guan (you can click my pic to enlarge).

The schoolhouse, in Bodega Bay, California, has also been known to be haunted, even back during the filming. According to Tippi Hedren, the entire cast was spooked to be there. She also mentioned how she had the feeling, while there, that "the building was immensely populated... but there was nobody there." When Hitchcock was told about the schoolhouse being haunted, according to Hedren, he was even more encouraged to film there.

In the scene where the fishbowl falls to the ground, (dead) sardines painted orange were used in place of actual goldfish, which director Richard Donner refused to kill for the sake of making a movie.

Shanti Uganda's charity event "An evening of Art" is less than 3 weeks away!

Yoga Outreach is a Vancouver based registered charity. their mission is to identify, develop and deliver healing and life-affirming yoga programs to people who can not directly access these resources. Yoga Outreach partners with volunteer teachers and facilities and organizations to provide free yoga.

Papergirl is an art project from Berlin. In the style of American paper-boys, rolled art pieces will be distributed by bicycle in the streets of Vancouver to random passers-by.

Art should be accessible to everyone. That is the spirit behind Papergirl, the pedal-powered and volunteer ridden project that combines art, philanthropy, and bikes!

A redefinition of street art, Papergirls volunteer cyclists criss cross the city delivering art directly into the hands of perfect strangers. From August 22 to 27 the Roundhouse Community Center will display an assortment of donated artworks before the art is bundled up and given away on the street. It’s the art of giving away art.

everybody loves a nice pom pom blessing once in a while

the girl who made this one is even on my facebook. she is an amazing yogi and so grown up now!

Yesterday was my second to last yoga class with those wonderful Elsie Roy kid's I have grown to love so much these past few years. I have reminders of them all over my apartment and feel so lucky to have had the pleasure and joy of their magic and wisdom and fun for so long. It has been such an privilege to watch them grow and share in yoga with them each week, and they will absolutely LOVE my replacement! That I know for a fact. I know I will still be running into them at my favourite place in the world (the Roundhouse) which is so nice! It was a difficult decision but sometimes you've got to pass the torch! Change is good, it really is. I have taken a class up at UBC Hospital in more of a clinical/theraputic setting in place of it (and in addition to ALL of my other classes), and will be devoting some extra time to my volunteer activites... and the kids will get a wonderful fresh and new yoga teacher! It all works out. It always works out. If you are debating a change think long and hard... but don't be scared! just go for it. The world is waiting for you!!!

Went to a friends wedding today just outside of the city and the view from their deck is just stunning. And tonight's moon...absolutely magnificent.

The people have spoken! Again!

The Roundhouse Arts and Recreation Centre and Mt.Pleasant Community Centre have taken the number 1 and number 2 spots for the "Best Community Centre's in Vancouver" in the Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver 2010 readers choice awards. No surprise to me whatsoever! We are blessed to have many fabulous Community Centre's in this beautiful city of ours (and more sprouting up all the time), but I certainly have a soft spot for the winners. Both of them. I love the staff, the instructors, the programs and of course all the beautiful participants, friends and yoga students I have met over the years. Even if you don't live in either neighborhood, I cannot recommend enough taking a trip to check out these fabulous places. Both are very cool and different from one another.

The Roundhouse is steeped in history and is absolutely stunning. It has the Engine 374 Pavilion and is brimming with cultural events, theatre, dance...it truly is spectacular and worth checking out.

Mt.Pleasant is brand spankin' new. We moved from the old location less than a year ago now and the place is very impressive...It's huge and has a gym, a climbing wall, a fitness centre, outdoor space, a cafe...and it also has a VPL library on site and a child development centre upstairs.

The Roundhouse also picked up the "Best Yoga Downtown" award through the Vancouver Courier "Stars of Vancouver 2010" readers choice awards.

And they both have yoga with me!!

There is something for everyone at both places whether yoga tickles your fancy or not...so come check us out!!!
