In the new year I plan on adding what has somehow gotten lost from my life through much of this year to crappy stuff like family stresses and paperwork etc... 

It's Nature. There will be much more nature.

A friend just brought a really interesting movie on plastics to my attention this morning as well. I just finished watching it and its great. It would be a wonderful little flick to show children (although its likely not the children who are the problem, its us adults.) The movie is by Ramen Bahrani. Hope you got to get outside and enjoy some nature! Lucky for us it's everywhere...

This weekend was the annual Brain Tumour Foundations Spring Sprint and it was a HUGE success! Thankfully the weather cooperated s well (For more info on this marvelous organization click here). The event was held once again at such a lovely spot. Burnaby Lake Park (Click here for a map). Each time I go there I vow to return more than once a year. If you love nature, photography, the outdoors, bird watching (it's a wildlife reserve), or going for a nice stroll or a run, you really must go. I know we are blessed beyond belief with the ocean, seawall and stanley park on our doorsteps right downtown but Burnaby Lake Park is sooo worth a visit. And its a 15 minute drive. Like roadtrips?

My partner Silas and I went on a wonderful "too beautiful for words" adventure last weekend called The Spring Thaw. 60 cars. All different people from different walks of life coming together for an amazing adventure. If you like roadtrips, wind in your hair, good people from all over, super scenery and twistie roads...this trip is something that is so fun and exciting that none of us ever want it to end. This year we went from Squamish to 108 Mile House to Sunpeaks to Hope. Can't wait til next year!

Yay for this Richmond school!

Every single school out there should have a garden space. Even if a tiny, tiny little space is all they can have. Love these stories! Time spent out in the garden? Priceless. Working together? Priceless? Learning about plants, the environment and growing your own food? Again, absolutely priceless. And it's almost Earth Day! My community garden plot is exactly where I'll be spending mine. Its truly bliss and it's been far too long. Yay for gardening season! And Happy Earth day everyone!
