Someone rides up on their bike and hands you a gift? And it's a beautiful piece of art? Sounds like a dream to me! A really amazing dream!

what is Papergirl?

Papergirl is an art project from Berlin. In the style of American paper-boys, rolled art pieces will be distributed by bicycle in the streets of Vancouver to random passers-by.

Art should be accessible to everyone. That is the spirit behind Papergirl, the pedal-powered and volunteer ridden project that combines art, philanthropy, and bikes!

A redefinition of street art, Papergirls volunteer cyclists criss cross the city delivering art directly into the hands of perfect strangers. From August 22 to 27 the Roundhouse Community Center will display an assortment of donated artworks before the art is bundled up and given away on the street. It’s the art of giving away art.

Hope you got to get outside and enjoy some nature! Lucky for us it's everywhere...

This weekend was the annual Brain Tumour Foundations Spring Sprint and it was a HUGE success! Thankfully the weather cooperated s well (For more info on this marvelous organization click here). The event was held once again at such a lovely spot. Burnaby Lake Park (Click here for a map). Each time I go there I vow to return more than once a year. If you love nature, photography, the outdoors, bird watching (it's a wildlife reserve), or going for a nice stroll or a run, you really must go. I know we are blessed beyond belief with the ocean, seawall and stanley park on our doorsteps right downtown but Burnaby Lake Park is sooo worth a visit. And its a 15 minute drive. Why? Just because cats hugging makes the rain a little more tolerable.

More reasons to get off our chairs and onto our mats.

We know what sitting does to our hips and back (and in turn our knees, neck, shoulders and mood) but the rest of it is pretty scary too! I know personally speaking that I have never sat as much in my life as I have the past few years (and as much as I hate to admit it it is getting worse with each year that passes)!

And our lovely weather doesn't help either at times sigh..

Well, thank goodness for yoga. It undoes all the damage caused by sitting. Bottom line is? Just move. Interrupt the sitting as often as you can.
